Elizabeth Eve King
E.E. King (USA) is an award-winning writer, actor, artist. A lifelong lover of the arts, her first and enduring love was theatre.
King studied with the San Francisco Ballet and holds teaching credentials in theatre, art, biology, and English. She taught at the San Francisco School of the Arts, where she coached notable alumni including Margaret Cho, Sam Rockwell, and Aisha Tyler.
As a writer, her stories have been praised by Ray Bradbury as “marvelously inventive, wildly funny, and deeply thought-provoking.” Her work has appeared in over 200 publications, including Clarkesworld, Short Édition, and Flametree. Her novels include Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife and Gods & Monsters, the latter of which is featured by SFWA and appears on the Nebula Awards Recommended Reading List.
As a visual artist, King has exhibited internationally, including at LACMA, and has painted murals in California, Mexico, and Spain. In 2015, she was the Artist-in-Residence for Bermuda Masterworks.
Her adventurous spirit has led her to work with children in Bosnia, crocodiles in Mexico, frogs in Puerto Rico, egrets in Bali, mushrooms in Montana, archaeologists in Spain, and butterflies in South Central Los Angeles. She has also lectured on island evolution and marine biology aboard cruise ships throughout the South Pacific and Caribbean.
