In three stages—the dress rehearsal, the premiere, and a performance at the conclusion of a crippling run—this play inside a play depicts a touring theatre company’s staging of Nothing On. With a progression from mispronounced lines and overlooked cues before the dress rehearsal to increasing tension amongst cast members throughout the show, Frayne provides us with a glimpse into the inner workings of theatre behind the scenes.
