The Blake family is gradually attacked by dashed hopes and unfulfilled expectations as they share a Thanksgiving meal together, with Brigid’s boyfriend and flatmate.
The Humans reflect on the difficulties its extremely flawed people encounter in an extremely flawed world and decide—without ever drifting towards sentimentality—that love is durable despite all of life’s pitfalls.
