Director

Born in Hungary and grew up across three continents — Japan, Switzerland, and Malaysia — studying English at the University of Cambridge, and later completing a MPhil in Film Studies.

His early career took him into the film industry in London, where he worked with Wildgaze Films (Brooklyn) and Emu Films (Benediction, Jawbone). That grounding in professional production — in the mechanics of how a project is built, not just conceived — has shaped his approach to directing ever since. He has worked as director of photography and camera operator on multiple short films, and co-directed a documentary for BTV.

In theatre, Aron has moved through the full range of a production’s demands. Across six productions he has served in roles including lighting designer and live camera operator, built sets, and worked sound — an accumulation of craft knowledge that informs how he reads a stage. As a director, he staged an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal with eleven actors in a 230-capacity theatre, a production requiring both structural rigour and an acute sense of visual language. He has also written and directed two fiction short films, continuing to develop his work with actors across forms.

His critical practice runs alongside his directing. As theatre editor at Varsity — the University of Cambridge’s independent newspaper — he reviewed between twenty and thirty productions, and attended the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as a reviewer. He has written longform criticism and cultural journalism for Novara Media and Barcelona Metropolitan.
