Emma Buckle

Emma Buckle (UK). A multilingual British actress, comedian & voice over artist who has been based in Barcelona for over 15 years. Born in South Africa and raised in the UK, her mother tongue is English, but she also speaks fluent Spanish and French, and a sprinkling of Catalan.

Emma has collaborated on productions locally in Barcelona as well as a number of UK-based projects, including The Vagina Monologues and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) and recently returned to the stage after a 10-year hiatus raising three boys. She is a trained actress in the Meisner technique and has studied acting and drama courses with RADA (London), BFI (British Film Institute, London) and Frank Stein Studio (Barcelona), as well as continuing to hone her craft recently working with local creative directors and academics, Miriam Marcet and Alicia Reyero.

Her most recent stage endeavour has been to debut her one-woman show entitled Confessions of a Serial Mother. This comedic solo-hour shares tales from the “front lines of motherhood and womanhood” in a multilingual household with 3 young sons, and sold out during its debut at the 2025 Barcelona Fringe festival.

Emma’s love for theatre and drama began at a young age (we are told she often refused to get off stage at the age of 5!) and this passion for drama was solidified when she studied as a child at Stagecoach Performing Arts, Eastbourne.

Emma is at her happiest when acting, and playing the fool on stage or in front of a camera, or simply running around after her three young boys aged 12, 9 and 4, whom she credits for much of her comedic material, her insatiable amount of energy and her increasingly wacky sense of humour.
